Welcome to my brand new print shop!
I am so proud to be entering this next chapter as "Tommy's Print Shop" - there's something about the name that feels right at home. It is exactly what and how I want you to experience when you get on the site: A sense of homecoming. A sense of belonging. A call to pause.
Here is what is new:
The Painted Photograph
For so long, I've been hard at work around the idea of making my photographs into actual painted objects. I ordered samples from my local lab here in Southern California late 2023, and that sparked the initial conversation of finally moving away from producing framed artworks that required glass. I am so excited to say that has become a reality after a full-year of experimentation. Introducing The Painted Photograph. I am so proud of this milestone for the print shop and for you to experience them for the first time. Each work is handmade and framed, in an edition of 20.
Sizing Options
We've revamped our size options. For the first time, we're offering square-sized pieces because I believe it is just the right amount of artful accent for any wall in any space. We'll also both horizontal and vertical formats available.
Purchasing and collecting art online can be tricky; many of us are daunted numbers and measurements. To resolve this, I wanted to show my artwork in scale.
"Every home has space for a medium-sized piece" - a pro-tip popularized by renowned Australian photographer, Kara Rosenlund, whom I highly respect and look up to. I even modeled this site after hers because it is so simple to browse. Her photographs of Australia's natural landscapes and wildlife are incredible - please go see them!
We've even added a gallery sizing section on each product page so you can easily visualize how small or big each size is. I hope this brings additional clarity as you plan out your plan fine art collection.
Framing
Perhaps the one aspect that was missing for so long in my studio practice is offering framing. I am so excited that I landed on an option that speaks to me as a conservationist and aesthetique. Natural oak. Timeless yet modern, stately yet understated. Sourced sustainably and hand-made, each frame has its own distinct patina and will age gracefully with each Painted Photograph. At 1.50", these wood floater frames effortlessly and elegantly accentuate the artwork and give it that beautiful depth you've come to expect from my archival, museum quality pieces.

What's Next?
This just marks the beginning of many more things to come. I can't wait to share more as we continue to grow the print shop. Until then, I hope you love what you see. The makings of this chapter of the print shop has been an emotional and resilient one. It's been one of many sleepless nights, some when I'd wake up and keep working away because I wanted this dream of mine to come true. And now it is.
